Webinar The role of scientists and researchers in the pandemic
Workshop programme

In many countries, scientists play an important role in informing the population during the pandemic. They are organised in Task Forces or Advisory Boards to advise the governmental bodies about the right measures against covid-19.

However, they often are perceived as politically too influential from other players like parties, politicians, associations from industry, economy etc. and therefore under pressure from the public, politics and media.

A lot of scientists are not used to this public interest and have problems finding their public role between Science, Politics and Media. The structure of evidence based on policy making in the pandemic was different in every country.
