Across Europe, the number of joint Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD programmes is growing- particularly within European Universities Initiative (EUI) alliances. While curricula and cooperation structures are advancing quickly, one challenge increasingly determines success: recruiting students to these cross-border programmes. Too often, recruitment efforts attracts candidates from outside the EEA, while the potential to attract European/EEA students remains underdeveloped.

In this session we will:

• Identify the key challenges in attracting EEA students to European Universities Initiative alliances.
• Highlight the unique opportunities for European talents to study a joint programme within EUIs.
• Define the conditions and structures needed to drive effective student recruitment.
• Formulate concrete recruitment tactics and actionable recommendations to overcome barriers and strengthen outreach.
