Creation of a brand to strengthen innovation between public research and industry

Unys, research and expertise for society

Unys (www.unys-sciences.fr) is the new Lorraine brand bringing together research and innovation entities, including the Université de Lorraine. Launched in March 2025, Unys makes research expertise accessible to businesses, public administrations, associations, and citizens by offering targeted solutions that address major societal challenges.

Given the wide range of stakeholders involved in public research, it is often difficult for companies or local authorities to identify the right contact, the appropriate expertise, or the relevant advice. To respond as effectively as possible to their R&D needs, research and innovation stakeholders have created a shared brand — a single banner under which public research can speak with one unified voice.

The objective is to enhance the visibility of the high-quality research carried out in Lorraine through a wide range of communication tools, while simplifying access to this expertise.

The workshop will start with a short presentation of Unys, followed by three separate groups working on different goals and targets: developing Unys’s visibility among companies, embedding researchers in the new Unys brand, and increasing communication in European scales.
