Dr. Elisabeth Jurack is a Press and Public Relation Officer for the Cluster of Excellence ImmunoSensation at the University of Bonn since 2016. She studied Molecular Biology in Berlin, Oxford and Leipzig and received her PhD from the University of Bonn in the field of Molecular Biomedicine.

TikTok is a platform for short mobile videos and the most downloaded social-media app worldwide. Younger people aged 14-25 are more and more hard to reach via classical communication tools such as journalism, TV or even social media platforms such as Instagram or Facebook. This session will explain the principles of TikTok and how to use it for science communication. In the beginning an overview about user data and target groups of the app will be given. You will learn how the algorithm of TikTok is probably working and what the general features of the app are. You will get to know the different formats of TikTok videos and every participant should at the end of the session create a TikTok video consisting of scientific content.
