Andrea Costa is a Bocconi graduate in Business and has spent most of his professional life working as a market research specialist in various international companies. After his return to Bocconi in 2000 he has been coordinating various projects both in market research and in the broader communication area. He has a monthly column in a Swiss newspaper.
One of the challenges we face in university communication is getting the right message across to potential students. You want them to understand who you are and what you stand for. That’s why at Bocconi we ask new entrants how they judge our online and offline materials they read before enrolling.
At the start of every academic year we ask our new students a few questions about the tone and the editorial quality of both printed and online documents they have been reading before deciding to study at Bocconi, and the extent to which they are consistent with the university’s perceived positioning. After looking at the questions (and the results over ten years), you will have the opportunity to prepare a simple questionnaire for your own new students. The session is addressed in particular to people working in student recruitment/marketing, but everyone is welcome.
