Jan Dries, President of EUPRIO and Director of Communications – University of Antwerp, Belgium
Jan is director of Communications at the University of Antwerp, President of EUPRIO (and EUPRIO Belgium) and the National Representative for Belgium on EUPRIO’s Steering Committee. He is a social and organisational psychologist. At the university of Antwerp he is responsible for marketing & recruitment, internal & external communications, congress & events and alumni relations. Corporate communication, corporate identity and design are his special fields of interest. Before his work at the university, he was a senior communications consultant. He assisted numerous companies to become conscious of their identity and to express that identity in design, communication and behaviour. His mission as president of EUPRIO is to professionalize the network and engage all communication professionals in higher education to learn from each other.
Ole Frank Nielsen, Social Media Manager – Aarhus University, Denmark
Ole is a friendly man, but there is one thing he dislikes – and that is spending a lot of money on expensive consultants from the advertising world – because oftentimes they do not know how the academic world works, and therefore suggests solutions made for sales organisations and not for the universities. Ole knows the academic world – and the advertising world as well, as he has worked both places. Job titles such as a copy writer, journalist, press officer and network coordinator means that it is an experienced and passionate fan of science, education and communication that you’ll meet. Ole is more than a ‘friends or contacts collector’ on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, but more a busy bee that actively finds communities – such as the social media manager network among European Universities with 200+ members.
