Countdown to EUPRIO’s digital challenge conference

Over 300 EUPRIO members and guest speakers are on countdown to our 2018 annual conference, which takes place in Sevilla, capital and largest city of Andalusia, from 3-6 June 2018

Representatives from at least 20 European countries will be attending EUPRIO’s annual conference being held this year in Sevilla together with participants from Lebanon and South Africa, writes Nic Mitchell

And the finishing touches are being made to entries for the 2018 EUPRIO Awards, which showcases some of the most exciting and original communication campaigns undertaken during the last 12 months by European universities. See here for how to take part!

The deadline for entering the Awards is Monday 21 May – the same date as registering to attend the conference itself – which this year takes place under the umbrella theme of The Digital Transformation: A challenge for communication in Higher Education

José Javier Tejada, the main conference organizer and Director de Comunicación at Universidad de La Rioja, said: “We are delighted to be given the opportunity to host the conference this year and look forward to welcoming over 300 attendants from more than 20 countries to Spain.

“I think the earlier date for the event has made it easier for representatives from Scandinavian countries to attend, coming as it does before their universities start their summer holidays.

Welcoming IT professionals

“We are also pleased to be welcoming a number of IT professionals, together with public relations and marketing people, as the relationship between Communications and IT is one of the main tracks of the conference.I’m convinced the sessions will provide a great background for both strategic and operational goals of the professionals attending the conference.”

For delegates who have already registered, organizers remind participants to ensure they have signed up to attend the parallel sessions before their arrival in Sevilla. They can choose from one two-part masterclass, or two workshops, on Monday 4 June. On the next day, they can pick from another two-part masterclass or two more workshops in the morning and select two workshops on the Tuesday afternoon. Places on workshops are limited to help make them interactive.

Inma Trenado, from International University of Andalusia in Sevilla, said: “The organizational team are convinced that Sevilla will be a surprise even to former visitors. As a famous song says, Sevilla has a special colour and duende – a mix of charm and magic – that you will hopefully taste this June.”
