TikTok - a tool for higher education to reach younger target groups?

Since the launch of TikTok on the international market in 2017, it has attracted strong attention. A constantly increasing number of users and the monetization of the platform are expanding its visibility.

Two thirds of the app’s users belong to the target group of 16-24 year olds. Scientific content and topics from everyday student life can be found on TikTok. Could the platform be an interface between topics from science and study for the generation of 16-24 year olds?

In this workshop, we’ll explore whether universities and research institutions can use TikTok successfully.
