Dear Colleagues, 

We are delighted to invite you to our first international Staff Week at the University of Zurich, which will take place from 22 to 25 November 2016. Throughout the event, various units from the university’s administration will share insights into their daily work and ongoing projects. The program is intended for administrative staff from central services and other UZH offices and will focus on the following topics: 

  1. Communications: international media relations and corporate website
  2. Promotion of junior researchers
  3. Research support
  4. Career services

Together with other communications specialists, we would like to address the topic of international media relations, explore how good news from research and the university can be effectively reported in the international media, and discuss how good media coverage is achieved. We will also address the content design of corporate websites. How must websites be structured to meet the needs of students and internal staff, and how is social media used to best effect? Lastly, we will also give an overview of the diverse communication activities at UZH.

During the four-day program, you will learn more about how UZH functions and gain insight into its working methods. Enjoy the international and interdisciplinary atmosphere, take the opportunity to share ideas with your peers, and find out more about the Swiss education system and the highly attractive university town of Zurich. Of course, we will also find some time to explore the city and to indulge in Swiss culture.
